*002* Audio

[His voice is a bit...odd. It's overly cheerful, quite obviously fake.]

[Filtered to Inmates]

Do you think everything about the Barge is a test? Every last moment? Do you think it purposefully puts the most horrid, rancid, despicable things on board just to screw with you?

[Private to Severus]

Hello, Snivellus. Why is your evil arse skulking about, allowed to draw breath, when so many good people are dead?

Wichita said I would be tested. Better you than the rat. But stay away from me. I don't need one of Voldemort's minions to remind me of what he did to James and Lily and what he tried to do to Harry.

How do you live with yourself?

[Private to Wichita]

You knew Snivellus was on board and you didn't tell me. Thanks. I could have ran right into his ugly face in a corridor and then what?

[Private to Merlin]

I hear you're a wizard. Why didn't you tell me?

I already said I'll only use it in self-defense. Do you think I'm going to go around screaming, 'Attack me, please!' just so I can whip it out? I'm not that hard up for a fight. I told you, I'm trying. Believe me or don't, I don't care.

[He shuts off the transmission.]

Yes, it does. [He looks at Snape for several seconds. No glares, no smug affectations, no smirks. He just looks at him.

There is so much he doesn't know.]

[For some reason, making Black speechless isn't as much of a triumph as it used to be. It might be the subject matter, but then again.

He doesn't know how much to tell the other man, or whether he wants to tell him anything at all.]

You are correct in one instance: I do know a good deal about that night in Godric's Hollow. I know she was never meant to die. I tried -

[He stops abruptly. No. Sirius doesn't get to know how he tried to save the Potters.]

Lily chose her fate. She sacrificed herself and it saved our world.

[A beat.]

You have a good, long while to decide who and what you are willing to sacrifice: our world or your friend. Weigh not only what you would want, but what Potter would have wanted. Consider that I have been here as both an inmate and warden, and while the whole of it is absolutely none of your bloody business, my deal with the Admiral has nothing to do with Lily Potter.

I suggest you learn all you can before you make a decision you may well regret.

Cure is relative. Change is inevitable.

[Persephone had been looking for the man on the video, and she knelt in the greenhouse looking towards the door. When she saw him wander on deck and look around in awe, the Goddess brushed the dirt from her hands and it disappeared like it had never been there. Her outfit was more goth than greek, with the bustle and the fishnets, but she wore an amused and welcoming smile on her face.]

Hello Sirius Black.

[Sirius turned toward the voice and smiled when he saw Persephone. He immediately bowed, deeply, because that seemed the most appropriate way to greet a Goddess.]

Hello, Persephone. It's a pleasure to meet you.

I wish I knew the answer to that question. I wish I could say yes, of course, but knowing me, nothing would have changed.

Do you believe there is a reason for us being here then? Or do you think it's dumb luck?

[identity profile] sirius-is-a-dog.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
I hope I never decide I need lobotomies to survive this place.

Are you to that point?

[personal profile] darknessb4me 2011-06-21 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Here specifically? Yes. Something thinks we deserve to start over. You don't see everyone that's ever died here - just a certain 75. But after it dropped us off it left us on our own.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
You'll have to avoid the medical staff, then.

No. I'm not.

[identity profile] sirius-is-a-dog.livejournal.com 2011-06-21 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I already have been. When I first got here, I had all sorts of people trying to get me to go to the infirmary, even though I was fine.

[He's not certain he wants to have anything further to do with this conversation, now that he's told Sirius Black to leave Lily dead. Letting go is one thing. This is a little too close to murder for his tastes.

Without another word, he frowns at his old enemy, then reaches over and ends the communication.]

Assumption plays to User perceptions of world.

Other Inmates already attempting to confirm original assumption.

[He's not real hopeful about you keeping good on that, Sirius. :c]

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-06-22 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
Was there any particular reason for that? Did they explain why?

[identity profile] sirius-is-a-dog.livejournal.com 2011-06-22 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
My appearance, for the most part. I did look bloody awful. But that doesn't mean I need medical intervention. I needed my wand and some food and for them to bugger off.

If we're on our own (and you may very well be right, I'm not going to pretend I have the slightest notion what any of this means), why does this Admiral fellow decide our future fates? Why don't we decide our own fates?

Inmate Filter

[personal profile] darknessb4me 2011-06-23 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
He doesn't. The wardens do, because they have power over physical laws here and someone once told them they were doing the right thing.

[identity profile] doctor-j-crane.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Your wand? Really?
