I am a wizard. But I also do magic. Now we're talking turns of phrase. I stood there and I told you about the legendary wizard of my world with your name. You were purposefully hiding it from me. Are you him? Is that why all the secrecy? A younger version, I'd say, since he was supposed to be all old and bearded and what not.

I'm sorry. I - I didn't mean to do it maliciously. It's just that almost every time I introduce myself to someone here, I end up having to have this conversation about how, yes, I suppose I'm the Merlin from Camelot, and - I don't begrudge it to anyone, it's nobody's fault that they know about a version of me, I just - I just wish sometimes I could get to know people without them making assumptions about me, based on the legends from their worlds about things I haven't done yet. Things I don't know that I'll ever do.

Believe me, I understand. Everyone thinks I'm a murderer where I come from. Everyone thinks I betrayed my best mate. Everyone in my world for the rest of time, including my godson, will think of that when my name is mentioned. If my name is mentioned. I doubt it will be in polite company, unless it's used to scare the children.

Listen, I don't bloody care who you are. Like I said, the chap I met seems nice. I couldn't care less if you're that bearded bloke whose name I use to swear. I have no assumptions beyond the ones I've made after knowing you for five minutes.
